  • Canadian Sponsorship
  • Did you know that immigrants form a good proportion of the Canadian population and that they are the number one source of birth in Quebec? The Canadian and Quebec governments recognize the benefit of having immigrants as part of our society.

    Consequently, the Canadian government encourages family reunification by allowing all immigrants to file a sponsorship application in order to unite them with their family members living outside of Canada.

    The sponsorship program allows a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident to sponsor any member of the family class that is abroad. The family class may be composed of any of the following individuals:

    • spouses, common-law or conjugal partners 16 years of age or older;
    • parents and grandparents;
    • dependent children, including adopted children; and
    • brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces or grandchildren who are orphans, under the age of 18 years and not married or in a common-law relationship, etc.

    Moreover, you must have the financial capability to fulfill the needs of the sponsored family member throughout the whole period of your engagement.

    Finally, the sponsorship process is composed of two (2) very distinct steps: the evaluation of your application and the evaluation of the permanent residence.

    If your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner is abroad with your children while you are alone in Montreal and you wish to reunite with them, do not hesitate any longer and come for a consultation. Once informed of your situation, we will determine whether you and your family member meet the requirements of the sponsorship program.
